After witnessing a bullfight firsthand, I have no desire to see it again. I have no problem with killing animals for food, but torturing them does nothing for me. Here is a brief history of Spanish bullfighting, as written by a matador. coloquio.com/toros/bullhist.html He mentions that it is more of a dance than a sport, and the beauty lies in the dexterity and gracefulness of the matador as he dodges the charging bull. I could see that aspect, but I couldn't silence the more immediate instinct to put a suffering animal out of its misery. Regardless of grace, he is still out there toying with a seriously injured animal for entertainment. As my Dad said while we were watching it, "If I had my pistol I'd run out there and shoot him in the head." I wasn't sure which one he was talking about. Music is Vicera Eyes by The Mars Volta

My friend Jason Hertweck had one too many pulls on the absinthe bottle this evening, followed by one too many pulls on the bourbon. So after passing out on the bench seat of our pontoon boat, he had his face assed by Smitty, subsequently referred to by the rest of us as getting "Hertwecked". I had to stop in the middle of editing this several times because I was crying on the keyboard.

Filmed in Union Square about a year and a half ago.  Found next to some footage I was digging up on an old tape.  Unfortunately for all of us, the man in the video has not redeemed anybody yet.  I have moved on, but something tells me those folks are still waiting.

Here are some seemingly random images shot today in the drizzle on my street, Lexington Ave. in Clinton Hill.  This video tests a theory that anything is watchable if you put Cat Stevens' "Trouble" on top of it.

Happy St. Patty's day.  Booze and a guitar and a camera produces this sort of thing.  My voice goes off-key.  My poor guitar, I mis-finger her.  She still loves me the next morning though.  This song is Yellow Ledbetter.
