Description:
NORTH CAROLINA — Senator John McCain delivered a speech at Wait Chapel of Wake Forest University highlighting his judicial philosophy. Among his comments, Senator McCain expressed that: - As President of the United States, he would be committed to appointing accomplished men and women to the federal judiciary, in the mold of John Roberts and Samuel Alito. - The Senate must do its part to bring the President's nominees up to vote (as he has done during his tenure in Congress). - There is a stark difference between Senator Obama and Senator Clinton's philosophies and his own — in particular, Senator McCain believes that judges SHOULD NOT legislate from the bench. The speech can be read here: http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/News/Speeches/Read.aspx?guid=5385b2dd-fc8f-4bc9-9fb0-da2e2f1d9f98 Author: JohnMcCaindotcom Keywords: john mccain president election gop republican supreme court judges justices fred thompson barack obama hillary clinton Added: May 8, 2008
