Chapter 21- It was finally Friday, the day that Hannah had been freaking out over all week. She had taken Kelsey shopping and got her hair done. It was out of control. The two were sitting at Hannah's house. Kelsey was watching videos on the TV, while Hannah walked around her house pacing back and forth. For this to be convincing, she had decided it was best that her and Stephanie came along for the ride. Stephanie had finally stepped downstairs. She had on a long flowy midnight blue dress. She looked absolutely stunning. Her and Kevin had become close on the last week and a half since Nick, Kelsey and Hannah all had school. They had gone shopping and had intimate dinners. She was in on the surprise tonight, so she was excited to call this their first serious date, she only hoped that Kevin felt the same way. The girls all stopped what they were doing when they heard a honk come from outside. The three girls walked to the door and saw a black limo waiting for them. Kelsey took one look and turned to look at her friend, who was walking slowly down the steps and towards the car. Kelsey followed her and was actually surprised when she saw the Jonas boys sitting inside. She hadn't talked to Joe since the day after soccer practice. She sat down next to him, looking a bit suspicious. Everyone was being in silent staring out the window, so Kelsey decided it was time to break the silence. "Since I'm the only one that has no idea what's going on here, would someone like to fill me in?", Kelsey asked. Joe noticed that she sounded a bit annoyed, but tried to rub it off. Kelsey had always hated surprises. "We are going into the city", Joe whispered to her, since Stephanie and Kevin were in their own little world and Hannah and Nick were acting bitter that they even had to be here. "Oh", Kelsey said. She smiled up at Joe. She didn't know what he was attempting to do, but she loved that he always tried. The rest of the ride was silent except for a few questions here and there. Finally, the limo arrived at a fancy looking hotel. Kelsey recognized it eventually as Trump Tower. She was starting to get excited as she followed Joe and the others into the elevator. Joe and Kelsey stepped onto the roof of Trump Tower. There was a place set out to sit and an acoustic guitar. Kelsey just smiled. Hannah, Stephanie, Nick and Kevin watched them walk out and when they were far enough away they shut the door to the elevator and rode down for their own dates. Kelsey could tell that there was no one walking behind her, so when she turned around and saw no one she wasn't surprised. "They knew you wouldn't come if it was only with me", Joe said. They sat down on the blanket laid out on the roof. Kelsey sighed. People could read her like a book. "Well, they were right", Kelsey said. Joe laughed. He had one chance to get this all out and make it sound sincere. "Kelsey, I can't even imagine what you have gone through since that day, but I can tell you what I went through. The day you broke it off, I broke down. We were in the studio and I took your call and once we hung up, I started crying. I had to pull myself together. I finished recording, but Nick and Kevin could tell there was something wrong with me. We got home and they were like, dude let it out in a song and I did. I know you are not a fan of ours, so I'm sure you have never heard the song and I wanted to play it for you", Joe said. Kelsey smiled, hearing Joe sing was always something she used to love. She remembered the countless times they would go up to his room and he would sit with his guitar writing just random lyrics. "I would love to hear you sing", Kelsey said. Joe smiled and grabbed the acoustic guitar to the side of him. He hadn't played the song acoustic in a long time, so he hoped he wasn't rusty. When the words started to pour from his heart, Kelsey's mouth dropped open. Walked across the crowded street. Sea of eyes cut through me. And I saw you in the middle. Your upset face, you wear it well. You camaflauge the way you feel, When everything's the matter. We've all been down that road before. Searching for that something more. World's spinning 'round.
