She receives over 1000 text messages per month from her students, and they respect her boundaries for having her cell phone number. Rhonda has been able to significantly increase her communication with students before and after class as well as rehersals, and makes a compelling case for teachers (in at least some contexts) sharing their cell phone number with students and helping them learn how to appropriately and respectfully utilize a teacher's cell phone number.
