Description:
We've actually been back in Japan for a few days now, laying low and relaxing in Kyoto. Our two week marathon vacation, from Kyoto to America, back to Kyoto, then to Korea and back was pretty taxing, financially and physically. I managed to post some of the stories from Korea while we were there, and a lot happened after that, but I wouldn't know where to begin. The trip was amazing, we really loved Seoul. It's a pretty happening city with lots to do, and the best part was that everything was cheaper than Japan. Val played with her new camera and took some amazing pictures, which we'll be putting up here soon. I brought my video camera, and I should be putting up that video this week. If you haven't checked the main page, I finally figured out the whole streaming video business. If you click here you can see a brief tour of our apartment. If you click here you can see a short video of the snow we got in Kyoto on New Year's Eve at a cool temple, as well as some of the cool festivities at a shrine just after midnight. I hope you check them out and like them, because I'm planning to put lots more up as soon as I can! So please check back often! Now we are sitting at the board of education building, because our holidays are over but school is still out. So we have nothing to do except sit here and pretend to work, which gets old fast. It's cold here in Kyoto, but not quite as cold as it was in Korea, where it rarely got above freezing during the day. Thinking about the biting, Siberian wind makes me cold all over again. For anyone that doesn't know Asian geography very well, Japan and Korea were completely unaffected by the massive tsunami that decimated parts of South east Asia last week. We were lucky because we had originally planned to go to Thailand, but it was just too expensive after the trip home to America. Lucky I guess. Well, that's really about it for now. We're trying to get back into school mode, thinking about teaching classes and all that. Hope everyone back home had a great holiday and is doing well!
