Known almost as much for his eclectic taste in music as he is for his numerous, multi-genre productions and remixes, Philadelphia producer and DJ King Britt credits the success of his own hip-hop, house, soul, acid jazz, and electric pop creations to his genuine love of all things musical. Producing and remixing since 1990 while attending Temple University, he met Ishmael Butler (aka Butterfly), who introduced Britt to his jazz-rap group Digable Planets. Acquiring the nickname Silkworm, Britt toured with the group as their DJ for more than two years. After rocking it with the DPs Britt took a turn to pursue his visionary retro funk band Sylk 130. Releasing two albums as Sylk 130, and gaining an international hit with his remake of Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, Britt firmly established himself as a leading player in the dance industry.
