Good ideas. I like the idea of having a "moderation queue"... I think the fear is though that if it requires more than one step to put a video into a collection most people would just get frustrated with it.
Besides... the people who are allowed to contibute videos can be easily moderated by the group admin.
But still... perhaps videos need to be approved by X number of members. A number you set. People could set it to 1, which would mean videos would be added directly, or 2 would mean a second person would have to approve it also.
It's a very interesting idea.
I've always liked the idea of having a voting system. nothing complex. Nothing 1-10 or anything. We've already got favoriting and tagging. Technically these are both a way of casting a vote.
What I'm talking about is just 'votes for deletion' after you've added a video. So anyone can add a video freely, but people who don't like it can vote it out of the group. The number of votes for deletion would be shown on the gallery page.
I also think it should show the number of people that have favorited the video. It'd be nice to have a little star and a number below the video or next to it. Maybe votes for deletion on one side of the the video, a little red star and a number, and on the left the little fav star with the number of people who've favorited it.
Mine as well give people in the group a way to sort by favorites and votes for deletion too. :)
