Lonely Planet: Lost in San Pedro, Chile - Travel from YouTube :: Videos by LonelyPlanet on May 08, 2008 15 views
Lonely Planet writer Greg Benchwick visits the desert outpost of San Pedro de Atacama in Northern Chile. Located smack-dab in the middle of the world's driest desert, San Pedro is an adobe oasis that has been inhabited since pre-Columbian times. Today, it has become Chile's number-one traveler destination, and for good reason: it's a perfect jumping-off point to some of this desert's most remarkable sights - the world's highest geyser field, a massive sand dune, alpine lagoons and high-plains hot springs. What do you think of Australia? from overlander.tv on May 03, 2008 27 views
This is an old one, from the original trip I did with my brother around Australia, back in the 90's. Back then we were quite keen to know what backpackers visiting Australia, thought of Australia. Dror from Israel summed things up perfectly, discussing the Australian character and cuisine. For those starting in video production, notice that even back then, when we were starting out, we recorded good audio by keeping the mic in nice and close. Payment

Simatai Great wall from A Geek in China on May 03, 2008 30 views
I've been attending a small private Chinese language school here in Beijing in an attempt to improve my Mandarin language skills; which are currently at the baby talk level. The school took a trip out to the Simatai section of the great wall. Previously I had only visited badaling so it was nice to see a different part of the wall, especially one that is less touristy.

Istanbul's Hagia Sophia from Rick Steves' Europe Video on April 30, 2008 54 views
Built under the rule of Emperor Justinian, the great church Hagia Sophia represents Byzantium at its finest, during the glory days of the 6th Century. Upon completion in 537 A.D., Hagia Sophia's dome earned the superlative of having the largest dome anywhere, until the dome atop the Cathedral in Florence was completed some 900 years later. Cruising with Bettie Trailer: L.A. to the Bahamas from TheSailingChannel.TV on April 29, 2008 51 views
TheSailingChannel presents a slice of the cruising lifestyle. Have you ever dreamt of "sailing off into the sunset?" Then join Bob and Kaye aboard their 36 foot sloop, "Bettie" as they cruise from Los Angeles to the Bahamas via the Panama Canal on the first leg of their sailing adventure "Bettie" is based on a Cascade 36 hull. It was custom molded for Bob by Yacht Constructors in Portland Oregon back in 1978. Four years and lots and lots of man hours later Bob splashed her. "Bettie" has a raised freeboard that allows for a flush deck design. This is a fast-paced documentary, with gorgeous photography, that will give you a first hand look at the cruising lifestyle. Over 10,000 miles have passed under Bettie’s keel since Bob and Kaye left Los Angeles in 2004. They sailed down the west coast to Panama, through the Canal, east to Cartagena, Columbia then north to Honduras and east across the Caribbean to the Bahamas. That's the focus of this video. Next, Bob and Kaye cruised north along the eastern U.S. seaboard to Boston. The geese were flying south by October beckoning them back to warmer climes, so they headed south to Guatemala and Honduras. After refitting and some time back in L.A., Bob and Kaye sailed back across the Caribbean to the Florida Keys. TheSailingChannel is partnering with Bob and Kaye to produce a continuing series of cruising documentaries as we follow "Bettie" to the far corners of the world. Bob Steadman is a highly acclaimed Hollywood cinematographer. He recently served as technical consultant to the Director of Photography on the feature, Body of Lies directed by Ridley Scott and starring Leonardo de Caprio and Russell Crowe. Read all about it in Bob's Blog and check out Bob Steadman's screen credits on the Internet Movie Database. High Quality Windows Media Video Download DIGITAL VIDEO DOWNLOAD: 51 Minute Video. San Francisco Wine Blog from OpenRoad.TV Travel Videos Blog on April 16, 2008 63 views
Stefan Ruenzel In 2004, Alder Yarrow typed the words “wine blog” into Google’s search engine and got zero results. A void to be filled, he thought. So Alder, wine lover, founded vinography.com and began to blog on the subject of wine. Red wine, white wine, cabernet, pinot, chardonnay, merlot, the perfect wine-to-dish match—all things wine have become an integral part of Alder’s life outside the box (where he is Founder and Principal of a design consulting firm). Fast-forward to 2008, type in “wine blog,” and you will find 941 thousand results. Vinography.com is first on what is now an interminable list. Call Alder the grandfather of wine blogging; he calls himself a “legitimate journalist” at the end of the day with a glass in hand and a laptop before him. Doug got the chance to catch up with Alder at Bin 38, a hopping wine bar in the Marina District of San Francisco, to discover his favorite places to wine out in the city. Here s a list of the places Alder mentioned: Bin 38 CAV Yield Nectar Wine Lounge California Wine Merchant Vino Venue

Hiking the Cinque Terre from Rick Steves' Europe Video on April 16, 2008 108 views
Much enjoyed by visitors, the five villages of the Cinque Terre are connected by a series of scenic trails. What some fans of the region don't know is that the villages, Corniglia in particular, produce more than just breathtaking views. Perched along the hillsides, small family vineyards are tended with care; the white wine produced is just another reason to visit Italy's most famous back door.
