Pamela Sparacino is World Famous in Brooklyn. As pinup model The Brooklyn Babydoll,  her fame and notoriety actually extends way beyond New York s most populous borough, but her true passion lies squarely on the shores of Coney Island. I made this short film with Ilise Carter and premiered it at the Coney Island Film Festival this past weekend! We are working on a few more segments for the Mermaids of New York series and planning to make a website to house them all this month but wanted to share this one with you now! Hope you like!

Dance Dance Revolutionary by Fereshteh Toosi is an arts initiative that aims to share information about radical activism through fun, participatory activities. A very quick but beautiful poem film from the common people

Quicktime  My 9-11 film. Made in 2002.  Began as a film about a landscape drowning in flags. Evolved into a meditation on the before-and-after emotional atmospheres surrounding a cataclysmic event, using post 9/11 San Francisco and national news punditry as sources. It needs remastering but I wanted to put it up today for obvious reasons.  It s on the Glimpse DVD if you desire a higher quality version encoded on a plastic disc. This one s 1400k (ipod compatible), so if you aren t on a speedy dsl or cable connection you ll want to either download it manually or wait a bit longer than usual before letting it play through. Headphones, or at least high volume (some key sound is very quiet) recommended.

Flash Quicktime What a difference two weeks make! I still think Obama is going to win. He’s still a great communicator and still has the better plan for America. But, back on August 28th I did not imagine that Obama would shortly be smeared as a pedophile, that McCain would pick an unqualified running mate, that this running mate would distort her and Obama’s record and be allowed to get away with it for days on end, that the media would accept this unqualified running mate being sequestered from public questioning, and that fake charges of sexism would dominate the news for days. Good God, the market place of ideas seems to be broken this September. Fear not, there are better days ahead. I hope. Thanks Pauline.
