Some fun for the weekend: Installed in the courtyard of the Manifattura Tabacchi in Rovereto, Italy (one of the locations of Manifesta 7), is a sculpture by Ricardo Jacinto, made of six gigantic black balloons, filled with helium. As the video shows, not only children have fun with the device that is diminishing one's weight by about 35kg and lifts up peoples bodies and spirits. The installation is called "Labyrinthitis". David Shrigley is an artist who works with various media: animations, drawings, sculptures, photographs. He is known for his cartoons released in softcover books and animations. At the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Germany, he presents monotypes, prints made in a single copy. Is a car or a toy or a shirt ‘made in China’, just because that’s the country where it left the factory? For Made in Someland, MLY used modern, ecologically friendly textiles, such as bamboo yarns, while avant-gardistic silhouettes reflect the 19th century travel component which inspired the collection.
