Sundance Channel has launched a “Eco-mmunity Map” which enables people to “contact, discover, list and search for green businesses, people, events, attractions, hazards and success stories”.

The site allows for 4 types of markers:

• Individual Marker - for people who just make it a point to practice a green-friendly lifestyle.
• Business or Org Marker - to highlight their eco-friendly businesses or business practices.
• Green Action Needed - to raise awareness of places that need help.
• Green Action Taken - for sharing good news on actions taken to help the environment.

This map can prove really useful, particularly to help people who really WANT to help, but don’t know how - just take a quick look at the “action needed” markers and figure out a way that you can help.

It is easy to add a marker, and each marker links back to your site where people can find out more information about “being green”. It would be great to see a ton of markers to green videos on the map! Overall, an extremely useful map.
