Introducing the Vlogroll widget - link to other vlogs that you are subscribed to!

Introducing the Vlogroll widget! This widget will show a list of feeds (vlogs) that you are subscribed to on Mefeedia.com. We wanted to create a widget that provided a lot of “link love” to other vloggers (10 links to vlogs, 1 link to Mefeedia).

Here are some different ways to use and customize the Vlogroll widget:

Vlogroll Widget

Vlogroll WidgetBy default, the widget shows the titles that link to each of the first 10 feeds / vlogs that you are subscribed to in Mefeedia. This enables you to easily provide links to your favorite vlogs on your own vlog or website. Each of the links goes to the vlog itself.
Using the Widget
It’s a piece of cake to use and completely customizable! Just follow these 4 steps:

  1. Login/Sign-in: Go to the Mefeedia sign-in page and sign in (or register if you haven’t already done so).
  2. Subscribe to Feeds: Discover the vlogs/feeds that you like (via browsing Guides, searching the feeds directory, exploring user profiles to see what they like (and even adding them as friends, viewing recommendations, and more) and click on the “Subscribe” button next to the feed name at the top of the feed page.
  3. Go back to the Home page and click on “My Subscriptions” in the left side navigation.
  4. Copy the code from the text box on the left sidebar of the “My Subscriptions” page and paste it into your website or blog - i.e. wherever you want to display the widget.

You are done! You may want to customize the widget. Here’s how:

Increasing/Decreasing the number of vlogs displayed
In the code that you have to copy and paste, change the “20.js” to a number you would like to show. For example, to decrease the number of vlogs displayed from twenty to ten change “20.js” to “10.js”. To show more, change “20.js” to “40.js”. It tops out at displaying 200 vlogs.

Changing the Look and Feel
CSS controls the look and feel of the widget. If you know css, then have at it with the “vlogroll” class! If you don’t know CSS, here are some sample ways to customize - just replace the <style> and </style> HTML tags and everything in between with the code below the customization you would like:
Change the width to 100px wide:

<style>
.vroll {padding:5px; width:100px; border:1px dotted #999}
.vroll li {list-style-type:none; padding-left:0px; padding-bottom:2px;}
</style>

Change the background to black and the link text to white:

<style>
.vroll {padding:5px; width:200px; border:1px dotted #999; background-color:#000000;}
.vroll li {list-style-type:none; padding-left:0px; padding-bottom:2px;}
.vroll a {color:#FFFFFF;}
</style>

There are a lot more customizations you can play with as far as CSS, so have some fun and enjoy!
